I don't understand how this is any different than buying software periodically, but maybe it's a Workd of things to chrap that we cannot function without Worrks plugged in. After upgrading to a new computer with Windows 7, I need MS Works 9 installed to be able to use hundreds of older Works files, notably the wdb files that cannot be converted to Excel or Word.
